Even as a nonmedical community our member’s health status is very important to us. We offer monthly vital sign, blood sugar and mental health checks.

Charles J. Meade
CJ grew up in Highland Springs VA an area in Henrico County, very close to Richmond VA with his parents and brother. He acquired a strong work ethic and love of golf through his dad, compassion and nurturing through his mom, a spunky athletic spirit as a baseball and football athlete and a strong sense of self by just being a younger brother. He graduated from Highland Springs High and went right to work achieving 30 years of facilities management experience within hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living and independent living facilities. He is now a proud dad of 3 adult children who was born a city boy with a country boy heart.
Quakeela Teasley
Qua grew up in a magical place in Nelson that some know as Shipman, others know as Elma, but she knows as Harris cove. A place where her grandparents owned a cattle farm, but in fact was much more than that. There were plentiful apples and walnuts in her yard, cool creeks to splash in, the ripest blackberry bushes scattered about, mountains to climb, fresh air to breath, and miles of gravel road to ride her bike with no interruption. But the most precious aspect is the magic that fills the earth of the many generations of her ancestors who have laughed, loved, and lived in those beautiful Nelson mountains. She graduated from Nelson County High in 1995. Now she is as a mom of 3 adult children and a registered nurse for 10 years spending more than half of those years caring for older individuals in their homes.
CJ and Qua
After CJ and Qua met they realized they were serving seniors in different health care settings with different skill sets but still working towards the same outcome, the wellbeing of the aging population. Following more thought, they decided to combine their work ethics, enjoyment of working with the elderly, and love for the country to form The DeLander at Nelson.
